JOE HEDL: BASS / BACKUP VOCALS
My musical journey started in Chicago when I was 10 years old playing piano.
After 2 years I stopped taking piano lessons...I still kick myself for quitting! In high school I took an interest in the saxophone and joined the HS band. While on a visit to the local music store a ukulele caught my eye and I picked it up and started strumming. I'm left handed and held the uke upside down and backwards. When I moved to playing bass I continued to play my right handed guitar upside down. Played R & R while in college. Joined a country band for a couple years in Peoria IL. Moved to Texas and joined a country band
"Destiny Duke and the Hazzards." We played the casino circuit in the south. After moving to SC I joined HWY 14 for 3 years.
For the last 6 years I have been paired with Teddy Ethridge as a musical duo. My guitar is a vintage SX bass. Bought it for $60 on EBay. I refinished it and replaced all the electrical components and hardware. I use a Fender 800 amp with Schroeder cabinets.
